The Renukajii is situated in Sirmour District. Renukajii is recognized by its cultural value and it’s religious. Renuka is a land of temples of mother and son duo of Reniukajii and Lord Parshuram. Goddess Durga lives in Renukajii. She was the wife of Rishi Yamdagini. Parshuram believed to be the sixth incarnation of Lord Shiva. He was the youngest among the five sons.

It is believed that Parshuram had served his mother to his father while obey the command of his father. After killing his mother, he begged for his mother life from father and he agreed. Renukajii was extremely very beautiful, Sahastarvahu, the emperor wanted to marry with Renukajii and once when Parshuram was away, the emperor killed Rishi and his four sons.

To escape from the emperor Renukajii jiumped into a small pond which name was Ramsarover at that time, and vanished into it. Ever since that lake is worshipped as Renuka Lake.
